'06 Chevrolet Uplander

The 2006 Chevrolet Uplander gets a revamp for this year with the discontinuation of their base model, the addition of a more powerful engine, and optional side-impact airbags.

One of the most popular minivans in the GM stable, the '06 Uplander features two basic models that come with a V-6 overhead valve 3.5 liter engine, 17” wheels, a four-speed automatic transmission and a 121.1” wide wheelbase. You can also opt for four-wheel drive and add side-impact airbags.

The entry level 2006 Chevrolet Uplander LS model is fitted with a 3.5 liter 201 hp two-wheel drive and the higher-end LT model comes with a 3.9 liter V-6 240 horsepower option that can be fitted on it. The car has good standard features like all-wheel ABS, front airbags, and one year of OnStar service.

The standard entertainment packages include a rear DVD system, a removable PhatNoise 40GB HDD that can support audio, video, pictures, and a CD-MP3 audio system with eight speakers.

'07 Chevrolet Uplander

The 2007 Chevrolet Uplander takes off where the last year’s model left off, with newer additions that update many of its features. Featuring a base V-6 3.9 liter engine that produces 240 horsepower, the '07 Uplander holds its own against its competitors.

The in-cabin entertainment features a removable 40 GB PhatNoise hard disk drive that can support audio, pictures and video, a rear DVD entertainment system, a CD-MP3 audio system with eight speakers and a FM radio along with their OnStar service.

The 2007 Chevrolet Uplander features an electronic stability system and comes in two wheel drive as standard features. A new rear cargo system allows for greater flexibility, and the updated gear shift is smooth and easy shifting.

Thanks to its large 25 gallon fuel tank, you can go more than 600 miles without the need to refuel, making it ideal for long drives.

'05 Chevrolet Uplander

Easily one of the best minivans that has come out of the GM factory, the 2005 Chevrolet Uplander continues to meet the high standards that GM has set for its best-selling minivan range. It is an ideal replacement for the company’s Venture series, and an excellent long-distance vehicle.

Though it is a minivan, it’s long nose and truck type styling makes it look more like an SUV, giving it a more rugged reputation and a flexible feature list. Available in the base model with s V-6 3.5 liter 200 horsepower engine, the 2005 Uplander also features an optional towing package that allows one to tow up to 3,500 pounds.

In-cabin entertainment is great, with a year’s subscription to GM’s OnStar tele-aid service, a unique PhatNoise removable hard disk drive that allows you to load songs, pictures and video very conveniently and a DVD entertainment system. The 2005 Chevrolet Uplander offers excellent value for money, and is loaded with practical features.

MINIVAN OR SUV? YES!

At first glance I almost mistook the 2007 Chevrolet Uplander for a classic Sports Utility Muscle Model -- no doubt what the sneaky engineers had in mind when they designed it. Inside, however is seating room for 7, and plenty of it, so there's no skimping on family values here. In fact there's a whole load of standard features frankly too numerous to discuss here. If you want the full scoop, we've got specs, pricing info (you'll be impressed at the cost, thousands less than comparable models in its class) photographs and plenty of other automotive intel on the 2007 Chevrolet Uplander. Not to mention financing info, available for your perusal

2007 Chevrolet Uplander

Minor changes to the vehicle were made on the 2007 Chevrolet Uplander from previous years, although a small change in the lineup brought some great improvements for the vehicles.

The 3.5L V-6 engine was dropped from the line-up along with the All-Wheel-Drive option, leaving the 240HP 3.9L V-6 to hold the reins with its 24MPG highway EPA-estimated rating. There was also a major change in the addition of a Flex Fuel 3.9L V-6 engine offered to potential buyers, giving the driver the choice of running alternate fuel sources such as E-85 Ethanol in their vehicles.

The 2007 Chevrolet Uplander has a MP3/CD player made standard to provide the occupants with great entertainment during long drives and extended stays inside.

2006 Chevrolet Uplander

Not many changes were made to the 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, the biggest change for the minivan was the introduction of the optional LZ9 3.9L V-6 with 240HP and 240FTLB of torque for buyers to choose.

The new 3.9L V-6 was available on all models except the All-Wheel-Drive-capable model. The LZ9 engine achieves an EPA-estimated 18mpg city and 25mpg highway, making it one of the most efficient V-6 engines while also being one of the most powerful.

The 2006 Chevrolet Uplander earned the highest ranking for safety from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the offset frontal crash rating test. The design of the Uplander resembles that of most modern “crossover” vehicles, due in part to the elongated frontal section.

2005 Chevrolet Uplander

The direct replacement of the Venture and Astro comes in the form of the 2005 Chevrolet Uplander. The Uplander comes equipped with several flavors, from a standard minivan, an extended minivan and all the way up to an All-Wheel-Drive Cargo Minivan.

The engine used is a 3.5L V-6 with 200HP and 220FTLB of Torque. A 4-speed automatic transmission puts power to the front wheels which come in either 113” or 121” wheel-base varieties.

The 2005 Chevrolet Uplander has a standard seating capacity of 7 providing plenty of room for a family to travel with their children easily.

Family time is made even easier with the addition of an integrated child seat in the Uplander LS, offering families a much more peace of mind that their children are safe and secure with a one-piece design for the seating.
